News on Availability of Class Web

Dear Classification Web pilot testers,

Great news!  We are pleased to announce that Classification Web will be
available as a subscription service on June 1, 2002.  Subscription
options, prices, and important information follow....

The Cataloging Distribution Service (CDS) will begin taking orders
beginning May 1, 2002 in anticipation of the June 1 launch date.
Application forms and further ordering information will be available at
the CDS Web site by May 1. Check for future
product updates and application information.

 Solo User: $375
     You receive:
      -  username and password access (no site restrictions)
      -  single personal notes file
      -  20 hours of access per month

Concurrent users per site*
      - 1 to 4 concurrent users                    $575
      - up to 9 concurrent users                  $700
      - up to 14 concurrent users                $850
      - up to 19 concurrent users               1,000
      - up to 24 concurrent users             $1,500
      - up to 29 concurrent users             $2,000
      - 30 or more concurrent users      call CDS

     You receive:
      - Unlimited connection time for maximum number of concurrent
      -  One local notes file per account.
      -  Three types of access:
          1.  Account manager username and password
               (has ability to edit notes and set account display
          2.  Site IP address: set up a range of computers at your
               Access Class Web without inputting username and
          3.  One read-only password for site users not connected to
local LAN.

* Site is defined as a single contiguous geographical location. (See
the end-user license agreement to be posted at for further details.)

Subscribers will be able to migrate from Classification Plus to
Classification Web on a pro rated basis at any time during the remainder
of their Class Plus subscription period.  Issue 2 of Class Plus will be
mailed to customers at the end of May.  Details on converting
subscriptions will be included with the Issue 2 Class Plus shipment and
posted on the CDS Web site.  Pending successful migration of customers
from the CD-ROM to the Web platform, CDS plans to discontinue Class Plus
at the end of 2002.  Cataloger's Desktop will continue to be available
as a CD-ROM product.

The subscription process will require the completion of an application
form and license agreement to be faxed or express mailed to CDS. The
application and license documents will be available by May 1 at the
following Web site

the Library of Congress Cataloging Distribution Service.

**** During the month of April CDS will be heavily involved in testing
the Classification Web account management system.  It will greatly
facilitate our ability to deliver this product to you on a timely basis
if you restrict your product inquiries to checking the CDS Web site and
