[Classweb-users] Subject heading query: Motion pictures

I think the difference stems from the broader term, Foreign films. The
film must also be shown outside of Australia to get the heading Motion
pictures, Australian. It's then a foreign film to the rest of the world.

Subject: [Classweb-users] Subject heading query: Motion pictures

Good morning/afternoon.

I have a small query regarding the difference between the subject

650#0$aMotion pictures, Australian.

AND the geographically subdivided version,

650#0$aMotion Pictures $zAustralia.

Myself and another colleague are confused as to the meaning of the scope

"Here are entered works on motion pictures produced by Australian film
companies and shown outside of Australia. General works on motion
pictures shown in Australia or produced by Australian film companies are
entered under Motion pictures--Australia."

The difference appears to be very subtle,

Any assistance is greatly appreciated,

your sincerely,

Robert Deininger
